About Gabriel

Gabriel was called to the Bar in South Australia in 1982, NSW in 1988 and admitted as a barrister in Victoria, Qld, Tas, ACT, NT and New Zealand. He has distinguished himself in the areas of Constitutional Law, Criminal and Appellate Law.

He appears regularly in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, The Court of Criminal Appeal and the High Court of Australia.

Gabriel has appeared internationally before the High Courts of New Zealand and Fiji in major criminal law cases and is an appointed barrister on the NSW Legal Aid panel for complex criminal trial and appellate matters.

He is a regular contributor to Online Legal Education and a regular guest interviewee with Stephen Odgers SC.

Gabriel is a member of the Legal Aid Complex Criminal Trial and Complex Court of Criminal Appeal Panels.
