Orange Chambers is proud to be a supporter of the 2025 Succession Law Conference.
In 2017 Linda Clarke, barrister and rural escapee, thought that it would be a great idea to bring the law to the bush. Having lived, studied and worked in remote and regional areas in New South Wales and New Zealand, she knew how isolating practising law in rural areas could be.
Linda thought that a conference with speakers experienced in succession law, including probate and family provision claims, held in their local area, would be of interest to rural practitioners. Her primary focus, aside from delivering expert advice on succession law, was to build community amongst the local practitioners. She hoped that by building relationships in the local legal communities, sole practitioners would not feel so alone, knowing that they could pick up the phone and discuss a question of legal principle, or practice.
The inaugural Succession Law Conference was held in Bowral in 2017 and was an instant success. Over the years the conference has continued to grow, attracting large audiences and speakers of the highest calibre, including members, and ex members of the judiciary.
The 2025 Succession Law Conference is to be held in Orange on 29 March 2025. A Save the Date flyer has been circulated amongst local practitioners and is reproduced below.
Invitations will be mailed out in late January 2025 / early February 2025. The invitation will include details of the speaker timetable and the topics that they will be speaking to.
The cost of the conference is $400 plus GST and includes morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, and for those that would like to join us afterwards - a glass (or two) of some of Orange’s best wines.
We look forward to seeing you there!
The Succession Conference is an independent not for profit conference bringing the law to Rural, Regional and Remote legal practitioners.
